It's all too much - Rape Board

No, this is not a "you all suck I'm leaving" thread. In fact you DON'T all suck. There are great people at RB, some of whom have broken the electronic barrier and can be considered friends.

However, many of you have noticed that I have not been posting as much lately. Now it's just too much. It has stopped being fun.

When I come here all I see is bickering, accusations and people feeling they have to band together to stay alive. I find myself getting involved in argument after argument. I see one friend the subject of a post that says "Fuck You Sternenlied". I see another friend constantly having to defend himself against accusations of a serious nature. I have tried in my own way to help all I can, but there is nothing more I can do.

As I have told you before, I had left RB. Phantom brought me back. His enthusiasm for RB is (was?) legendary. But this place has worn down even Phantom's prodigious energy.

When the fun is gone, it's time to step away. If you want me, you know how to find me. Come see us.

Nothing unexpected. With the way things are going on RB, it's not a wonder that there are still sane (and plenty of those) here. Sometimes a change in scenery is best.

I can see where you're coming from m'dear. Somewhere you visit online should be fun. The second it isn't then distancing yourself is only sensible before you stress yourself out over something unnessasary. I sincerley hope we make this forum worth visiting for you again very soon.

i know what you mean, and ive been feeling the same way latly and to be honest i think RB was amazing when i joined at first i loved it but latly its just been lame and ima bounce out for a while to so peace,

A good call. Thinking I might do the same for a while, there hasn't been much in terms of quality here for months. I think the board just got more important than it's theme...

Absolutely understood. That's part of the reason I belong to several boards. I stepped back from one that I used to love going to for a few months because there were a few individuals there who were specifically there to piss people off and insult them (I still have one of those guys set on "ignore"). I'm back on that board now, but I visit it with much less frequency. I wish people would realize that constant attacks and pack behaviour don't make you clever. They make you look like an asshole. Period.

I detest that you feel the need to leave because of the actions of the very, very few. I had my taste of being attacked here in one thread, and saw how it looks. If I was a truly empathetic person, I don't think I could take even watching it day after day.

A vacation is in order and well earned, Sierra. Enjoy your time off. We'll still be here when you come back (I'll be the one holding the cloth gags and the handcuffs).

I feel exactly the same way, I must admit that I thinking of throwing in the towell myself. It seems that a thread can't be started without it either degenerating into WWIII, troll city or just plain ol' hissy fits..

My thoughts.

1. Love to Sierra. I will really miss you.
2. People drama-whoring with "yeah, im leaving too, this place sucks" when they know as well as the rest of us they will still be here tomorrow do not help things.

If people don't want to be here they don't have to be. While Sierra deserves a leaving thread and a chance to explain, all of the "yes, i think the same too" bugs me.

I was thinking of leaving here, for different more personal reasons than "too many fights" but I think I'll finish up my two-three week break and then return. This is a nice board with nice people and too many people are jumping on the bandwagon.

Also taking a break like I have is far better than saying your leaving and then looking like an idiot when your back in a week when you are bored, which undoubtedly some will be.

Its a slow patch, a bad period, that is all. The board has been around years and it will most likely be around years more. Those who don't want to be around can go, personally I am Rapeboard all the way, its the best forum I've ever been on and I think its easy to let the bad overshadow the good.
