My connection hasn't worked at all this month and I'm so sick and tired of all you motherfuckers and your working connections, rubbing it in my face...

I have no idea how enabling broadband on a frigging phone line can take three weeks.... did I mention I was still being charged for it? Well I am.

All I can say is thanks to all the unsecured wireless connections in this area, I've enjoyed stealing your connection to download porn and visit rape sites.

Oh yes indeed SD hmmm maybe I shouldnt mention I went thru local phone company for broadband got the package next day thru UPS and hooked it up myself...Nice and easy!

Of course over there they are a little slower it seems and a lot pricer??? Sorry Wicked

In my case, it was more like a couple of hours. I already have CATV and so basically all I had to go was get a modem from the cable company and plug it in.

Oh and don't try leeching off of my wireless network. It is quite secure.

Wicked, the PSTN (public switched telephone network) was never designed nor implemented to allow broadband data. If it works at all, you're damned lucky. You generally have to be within 2km of the local trunk office AND be in a neighborhood that's had the wiring from the trunk to your house replaced sometime within the last 15 years. Anything outside that range and you're probably stuck with 10 to 30 kilobaud on a good day.

Telephones were built for 12KHz audio, and newer cable TV is designed for around 1.1GHz signals, roughly a 90,000 to 1 difference in signal quality. Even here in the U.S. a lot of people can't get DSL to work reliably unless they're in a major city.

Ntense is right. He actually reminded me my first attempts to get connected with PSTN. I changed all the telephone cables in my home. A week after it was a storm, a big one with thunders. I changed the cables again....
