ego need to know how real the legend was of the war between Greece and Troy?? We have some sayings still to this day from events back in forgotten history.

Like the Trojan Horse which was a PC virus here recently and still stands for things you shouldnt accept!

Was Achilles a real person human or born of a mixture of God and human??

Was Paris really a coward?? Sorry just need to know how real all of it was compared to the legends!?

Not much. According to archaeological finds in the site of Hisarlik, Turkey, there was a town partly destroyed about in 1000 - 900 B.C but some golden/precious items were found also.
Also, the Mycenaean culture have been dominant in the greek area up to about 1.100 B.C but then started to fade under the pressure of Dorians, the last of the indoeuropean tribes that came in Greece.
Its rather immpossible to imagine a campaign as massive as described in Iliad took place in that era. Most probably, it was a sudden assault of banished Mycenaeans or a long period of skirmishing between Mycenaeans seeking for a new homeland and local populations.
At the same period was taking place a big change in greek language. Although greeks knew writing, the only things from that period we have find are indexes of products and other "office" scripts. Iliad was written about 750B.C and as meanwhile it was transfered vocally, every bard was free to add or cut to his liking.
So, most probably, Iliad is a combination of facts that took place during that 4 centuries and fantasy. Neither history nor mythology, but a great (as much as unique) source of informations about the way of living and habits back then.

According to the legend his father was mortal and his mother a lower immortal deity. He was born human and mortal with no extra super powers, not even a demi-god as Hercules was.
In reality, i doubt he was a physical person, most probably was the represantation of what Myrmidons were considering as a king worthy for them.

Well, i cant be sure, i was to young to remember!
Homer however says he avoided fighting Menelaus. He was an archer also and ancient greeks had no special consideration of users of ballistic weapons. Honorable was to fight in close quarters combat and archers were not even considered warriors, they were praying to Appollo and Artemis instead of Aris.

There is no real truth about that age, the informations are lost. The first written quoting of facts and sayings happened much later, in the 5th century B.C
About the toponyms, some of them have been located, some other remain unknown or are lost.
