It was Tara's first major assignment on the job. She had been working for a major newspaper for over five months now, and she was finally getting a chance to prove herself. The story would be on a highly dangerous gang that was beginning to terrorize a local city, and today she was supposed to meet one of her contacts in the heart of this wild city.

She nervously tucked several strands of her long blonde hair behind her ear and took a deep breath as she parked her car beside a surprisingly massive house where her source had told her to meet him. Grabbing her notepad, cellphone, and a pen, she shakily stepped out of the car, trying to appear confident and professional. "I can do this," she thought to herself. "It's no big deal. I won't screw up this story. I won't." Slamming the car door shut, she looked around for the man she was supposed to meet. No one. Maybe he was late? She leaned against her car and waited.
