The lovely assistant ushers me into the darkened inner office with a wry smile on her full lips and a twinkle in her eye as if she knows something dirty and secret about me personally... I am tempted to stop and chat her up, but... HE is waiting and I had better use the small amount of time He can spare me...

The lights are out in the room and I see a vague figure softly backlit by the evening glow which is filtered through the drawn curtains behind His desk. I am mindful of Who's presence I am in and do not pay enough attention to where I am walking. I stumble over something lying upon the thick Persian rug. I hear a delicate, muffled complaint and glance down quickly as I step over the nude, bound and gagged woman who squirms there.

Phantom: *laughs* Forgive my untidiness. A gift from a friend I have not had time to unwrap yet. Please, have a seat. *gestures to a nearby chair*

I settle into the comfortable, leather upholstered wing back chair and note with amazement that there is a cognac waiting for me on the side table. The delicious aroma of Remy Martin is unmistakable. How does He know? This is just what I need to steady my mind and ask the questions which I have for Him.

I gratefully take a sip from the snifter before beginning...

me: First off, thank you for seeing me. I know you are a busy man with many projects. *sidelong glance at the beautiful captive*

Phantom: Not at all - I always make myself available to the Members. I believe there were some questions?

A gentle reminder that time is pressing.

me: Phantom, everyone wants to know... You swiftly approach 100,000 Rep points, a truly astounding feat. What's your secret?

Phantom: *laughs and shrugs* Dogged persistence. I try and give the people what they want before they even know it is needed.

me: And your efforts are appreciated, hence the astronomical Rep. Are there any future plans you can reveal?

Phantom: No, Flesh. I would hate to have you disposed of.

A chill passes through me before he continues.

*hearty laughter from Him* and I realize that He is making a joke on His own fearsome reputation. I nervously toss back the rest of the Remy while He talks.

My plans are many, but you know I would never spoil the show by giving anything away up front...

me: So, then... You do envision your continued presence at RB?

Phantom: For a long, long time...

me: Well, thank you. That's what we really wanted to know.

When He rises, I stand as well and He extends His hand to shake mine. Then He asks politely if I would mind showing myself out. I enter the reception area and brush up against the lovely assistant who has been waiting at the door. She moves past me and enters the inner sanctum bearing a riding crop which she carries to Him on a purple satin pillow. The look of wistfulness on her face is sublime as she closes the door and I am envious of not having her devotions for myself. I make way discretely back out into the real world...

What is Phantom really like?

I get that question all the time, and Flesh4Fantasy's post seems to echo at least in part Phantom's reputation.

So what IS Phantom really like?

A powerful personality that one room can barely contain.
A gentle soul moved to tears at the passing of someone he did not know.
A fierce protector of those who cannot fight their own battles
A harsh critic, goading himself and others to strive to be better than they are
A forgiving spirit who never writes anyone off as lost

Most of all, he is a member who cares about this community and it's citizens -
and who is willing to put the time and effort into making it better.

That's what Phantom is really like.
