For those interested in the real stories behind the crimes a good book I can recommend is Laurence Rees' 'Their Darkest Hour'. This is a series of interviews made by him and his researchers of survivors and veteren's from all sides in both theatre's of WWII, some are extended ones from previous books, others are ones he couldn't find space for.
