STDs have the risk of spreading like wild fire within the porn industry. One star gets one and by the time he/she tests positive he/she has spread it to countless other pornstars. There is no sure fire way to prevent it. Many say upto 1/4 of ALL pornstars ADMIT to having herpes, forget about the ones that don't admit it.

I'm not sure where you got your facts on this, but once I read it, I did some checking. Thankfully I have a corporate account with AIM...Let me digress...I'm the one Stern spoke about as openly admitting about working in the adult industry, not as talent, but producer and director...my wife on the other hand IS talent. now AIM Healthcare is an organization that 99% of ALL adult industry talent get tested through. Companies in LA won't even hire someone unless they are tested through AIM. With my corporate account I can look at ANYONES tests and print them out. So out of curiosity, I looked at a blanket group of about 100 individuals. NONE of them have ever tested positive for Herpes. That being one of the main tests that each and every individual takes each month. Along with Syphilis, Gonorrhea, HIV, & Chlamydia.

AIM Healthcare was founded in 1998. So they've been around a while. But it didn't become industry standard to do PCR DNA Testing for STD infections until about 2006. Regular testing for STD's not using the PCR DNA tests can overlook certain infections. Such as HIV etc. Both of your quotes listed above were from 2004. Before the DNA tests were required. So at that time, the chance of infection was greater. But with the advances in testing etc, the outbreak of any infection is very very very rare at this time. The most common, being Gonorrhea which can be cured in a seven day time span.

Not so. While during the seventies and early eighties there was widespread drug use, it is not the case now. Occasionally, you may find a person here or there who uses a little weed, but if you talk to large groups, heck, even test them regularly, you'll not find any who use anything harder then that or alcohol. As to living crazy lifestyles. While many may be swingers, while they are swinging, they use condoms. period. Sex is their business. Much the same as say a cab driver who races on weekends. You won't find them jeopardizing their car by using the same one for racing that they would use as a cab. The same goes for adult talent. They take EXTRA precautions in their private lives to not hurt their business assets. Mainly themselves. Before my wife became mainstream talent, we gave live BDSM Training seminars. Since then we had to virtually stop those because she may get a bruise or something that would harm her appearance. Protecting the assets.

Of this whole list, dating from 1981 to 2007 there were only 12 that died of drug overdoses, and 6 that died of AIDs complications. Not bad actually over a 27 year period of time in a single industry. Especially when you look at say the main stream movie industry and during that same time period, 53 individuals have died of AIDs complications and 40 have died of drug overdoses. So really, people blow STDs and drug addiction/use well out of proportion when it comes to the adult industry. They police themselves far better then probably any other industry when it comes to both of these topics.

Let me poke around her name a bit...I bet all I find is petty internet crap. I think you try to build yourself and your woman higher than you actually are. HPV is unavoidable and I believe untestable in men. It can cause warts and other skin lesians as well as cervical cancer in woman. It is estimated that MOST sexually active adults have it and it is spread through skin contact, so condoms do not protect from it.

The good thing is that most of the time it will clear up on its own. You could possible have had it already but it cleared up. Like I said, most sexually active adults either have it or have had it. I remember in my freshman health class that they have an HPV vaccine, so I think it is unavoidable.


As for my two cents, I think the porn industry is probably std-free for the most part. It seems that it's not very smart to not screen all their actors/actresses for STD's since if one of them does have something then all other members of the "talent" community will not want to perform until all other participants of a shared project are also tested after the occurrence.
