I'm definitely a masochist, but I could never understand the pain aspect of this until I experienced it for real. Yet even now, I still find it hard to explain this to someone else who doesn't share the same feelings.

For me, I believe it took being with real Sadists for me to discover how strong this is. We learn to channel that pain into arousal and a heightened state of mind. To bear even extreme pain for another person's satisfaction fills me with both excitement and pride. And as I learned to transcend the painful sensation of the moment, I started to feel elation and joy.

Those are the most liberating experiences I've ever known.
