Yes, completely! Braveheart was entertaining if you ignore all the blatant historical errors...kinda like a drag version of Robin Hood

The Patriot on the other hand was a vile tour de force of shitty film making and to date the only movie I've walked out of!

I'm disagree with you totaly,there are some historical errors in Braveheart but this for improving the drama of the movie,and I don't think they were blatant.

and about The Patriot,I don't know what are the bad things in it.

and why you see the negatives and ignore the positive,this two movies have a great work from Mel Gibson as an actor and a director,plus the good work of the other members of the cast,specialy in Braveheart.

No bridge at the Battle of Sterling Bridge

Totally incorrect dress for Scots in the latter 13th and early 14th Century

No mention of Andrew Moray as co-Guardian of Scotland

William Wallace having an affair with Isabella of France who in reality was like three years old at the time...

The list goes on

As for the Patriot...dear god the only worse films ever made all involve singing!

Maybe you see this because you are from UK and the movie show the badest british colonial and show their crimes in USA when it was under the british colonial.maybe.

I see the movie have a very good direction and acting,specialy in the fights and I think they were close from the real,and the movie is one of the biggest movies that show the resistance against the colonizing whatever the nationality of this colonizing,I think it lucky that the two movies were against the british colonial.

I'm fully aware of the bad things that British colonialism has accomplished in its time. The film was just shit, made for a base audience hollywood one guy saves the day bullshit.

Now I agree that the cinematography was impressive and location, props, costumes etc were all very well done. The storyline however wasn't, admitidly it is a long time since i've seen it so the exact details are somewhat hazy.

I suppose there have been worse movie made, before and after The Patriot, the history of cinema is long and not without its ups and downs. That film is very typical ans reflective of the middle of the road claptrap that hollywood inflicts on us every year.

If you want to watch a good film set in that period, that also includes the bad things the British empire has done; lets not forget that point which formed part of your argument, then watch The Last of the Mohicans. The Patriot had all the ingrediants for an excellent film, they just put them in the wrong quantities.

Well my 2 cents. If you make an historic movie like the Patriot or Braveheart. At least get your history right or rename the bloody flick. Both Braveheart and the Patriot were inaccurate which makes them bot bad movies.

If you gonna watch the Movie Titanic and the ship would not sink and everybody lives happily ever after you don't say 'Great flick' You'll say 'this sucks, it has nothing to do with Titanic' Well that's how accurate these Mel Gibson (and most Hollywood) movies are. So they suck.

If you want to tell a fairytale, please do. But don't claim you based it on facts
