Fucking Spammer - Rape Board

I have been logged on here for about 3 hours now. Can't bring myself to log off because every time I turn around there is another fucking spammer (or 4) posting. I have cleaned out no less than 50 posts in three hours.. This is fucking ridiculous. Same IP over and over...same assholes posting about viagra or profit links or WOW cheats (come on now RAPE Board for Pete's sake how do you get WOW out of that).

Hell, by the time I finish posting this some asshole will have the board spammed up again. ARGH!!! I just wantto read some posts and respond...Is that to much to fucking ask already...

Becka,

I say it over and over again. You and the other mods do a remarkable job with your available tools and limited numbers. If there was some way that we could help, there are a number of us that would be more than thrilled to sit on the knoll with the equivalent of a NATO 7.62 and clear out some of the spammers and worse. Alas, all we can do is point and click.

I suppose we all need reinforcements! For now, an "at a girl" must suffice.

Hi Becka, unfortunately the person is using a spam bot program.

There is a program that allows one to create user accounts/threads on multiple forums with one click.

One way to reduce this is to have all memberships require a valid email address for validation. To go a step further you can even have moderator approved accounts, but that may just end up taking more of your time.

There are also other ways to reduce spam. There is a VB plugin that disables new users from posting links to outside sites.

I couldn't agree more! If just a handfull seniors (who's always online anyways) could get permission to just move threads to a different section, that would ease you guys work a lot!

The ip changes from login to login, no chance. even the e-mail can have a temp acount, wich is only valid for a view minutes.
Lot's of boards try to fix it with chapchas as we can see in jdownloader it is not perfect.
To give new users the write right after 2 days, may be a solution.

I am susceptible to forget that not everyone has fix ip given out by supplier. Still Becka said it always was the same ip so i thought it could work.
