DepositFiles - Malicious site? - Rape Board

I notice that Malware Bytes a couple of other Security Systems believe that the DepositFiles site could be an intrusive security risk?

Anyone have any experience with that?

I have not had any of my security software report this on Deposit.
Some image hosting sites yes, but not DepositFiles.

I've been a long time user of Depositfiles and have never had any problems with viruses or Malicious software of anykind, I say its safe to use.

Thanks for the update of your experience.

I have sent in a request to Malwarebytes to check out why this is setting off a security alarm. I know for a fact it isn't DepositFiles itself but rather one of the advertiser pop-ups, (but most of these file servers will not allow for a completion of the file download setup until the pop-up has successfully established a connection).

Hopefully it is simply an error.

Nothing for me with this one, but very slow, very very slow to download.

Some people doesn't like r@pidsh@re, but, very rapid to dl, 1,5Mo/s.

deposite : 50Ko/s ... and I pay for this one

Okay the initial findings are that the DepositFiles site stalls due to Malwarebytes while IP 208.73.210.125 is loading. 208.73.210.125 is part of the searchportal.information.com group which has a long spyware and DNS poisoning history. I guess the next step is to determine if Searchportal is still the problem child it was two years back.

So once again the issue is not with DepositFile but rather the ad access they have sold to Searchportal.

Final answer on this and I quote the response:

"The IP was blocked because it is on a range (208.73.210.) from Oversee.net, (Searchportal), that is hosting over 871 malicious sites."

So I guess that means if you access DirectFile and they still link to 208.73.210.x you should at least be aware of the possible risk.

Totally agree..When I see DF links in a thread I am immediately closing it without seeing the pictures (which sometimes make me sad) Most of the Russian dudes using this filehost and they are some of the best posters , unfortunately.

You doubt one of their advertisers is documented spyware/hack site?

Unfortunately I'm stuck with the same problem as Barbar. I see Deposit File and then ignore the thread. Think I'll set up a test system and let it loose at DF and see what it catches.
