Football is actually more difficult than you think.......try memorizing 300+ plays. Of course, most players can only do that.....but that is a different conversation I suppose.

As a former hockey player, I have to defend my sport, and I can put it in terms that even a a Scot can understand, (although no one understands you....)

In a strategic sense, hockey is a lot like your football, only much, much, faster. (Even a decent high schooler can shoot a puck at 80 miles per hour.) Add in such things like the geometry of the puck hitting the walls, and trying not to get your teeth knocked out at the same time - it actually takes a lot of thought and split second decisions.

Also, we can fight. Soccer players get banned for that shit. We do 5 minutes.

Now......I wouldn't normally step into a conversation like this, but when I see someone waving a flag from a country where men wear skirts banging on a great game like hockey, I have to say something!

Another thing that is great about hockey is that it isn't like the crappy European leagues in football......I know the quality is there - but how many seasons can you watch either Rangers or Celtic win it? United, Liverpool, Chelski, or Arsenal. (The Arse being the greatest club in the world.) Real or Barca? Inter or Milan. You get the point.

I will however concede the point that the toughest son of a bitch to ever walk the planet was a Scot goalkeeper......Jim Leighton!

Actually, in a twist of irony, I just remembered something about my playing days.....speaking of Scots and their skirts. Hockey players hold up their long socks by.......you guessed it: garter belts. I shit you not. lol
