Euro 2008

This is the thread of Euro 2008 " from 7June : 29June" ,and any thing about this cup are welcome.
I hope to see your predictions about the team who will win this cup or the four teams of the Semi-finals oe even the teams who will cross the groups stage.

Well, I'm with Germany of course.
Shouldn't they make it, I'd also go for Sweden since I always liked Scandinavia or finally Greece since they did a nice job surprising everyone four years ago and I'd really like them to make it happen again.
I also cheer for every team playing against Turkey!

I think we will see many strong matches and many stars in this cup.it's a small world cup.

I support the German team since I was 10 years old and I was like Klinsman very much,and now I think Germany has the team who could win this cup,they are strong in all lines specialy the centre and the attack.
and support France also,they present a very good football and have a wonderful team,and Portugal is near from them.

But about Sweden,they have good team but I think they couldn't take a place in the Semi-finals.
and about Greece,I don't think they could repeat what they did in the last cup,also I don't think they have a chance to cross the groups stage,I see the other three teams of their group are stronger than them in this years.

Russia has a very clever coach with some ambitious players,but I think if Russians could cross the first round this would be considered a success for them.

Well I think the Dutch has the strongest midfield/attack combination. If the defense wasn't this weak they would be one of my big favorites. I don;t think Germany will be able to play like they did in 2006. Italy though seems still strong. They are my predicted champions

Well as long as Portugal doesn't win I am happy. I'm not a fan of the 'provocation' theater

I think Holland has one of the strongest attacks lines in this Euro cup but not the strongest,they have Van Nistelrooy and Van Persie with Kuit,Robben and Babel,and this really a strong attack.
but if you asked me about the strongest attack I'll say France,they have Henry,Benzema,Ribery and Anelka.

and about the midfield,I see Holland hasn't a strong midfield specialy after losing Seedorf,Cocu and Van Bommel,but they still have a strong goalkeeper who would remove most of the defense's mistakes.

Actually with Sneijder, V/d Vaart and the for Europe unknown Engelaar I think it's one of the strongest. But you are as strong as your weakest line and that is the defense.

I disagree on the France attackers. In fact, in the poule of death they are the team I fear less. Romania and Italy will be more dangerous.

I see Germany team has got some new good names in this cup like Mario Gomes and Trochowski and some didn't played in 2006 or didn't take a real chance like Kuranyi and Jansen,I think they will take a place in the semi-finals at least.
and I think Italy won't cross the first round,France and Holland are better and the luck won't go with them in every time.

Some people don't like the teams who provoke the teams who playing against them but Portugal is strong in this competition, a player like Ronaldo could change any result at any time.

Well, I´m not a football fan, but I don´t hate it either.
I know Spain never go farther than quarter finals, but I hope this time we can catch the cup.
I´d like we play the final against the Netherlands, and the other semifinalist I think that will be Germany and France.

Spain has a good team specialy in the attack "Torres with Villa" but they lose Raul and they haven't the good substitutes,I don't think the first round will be difficult for Spain but after that they will face one of the group c teams and it would be a very difficult match.

Spain can't play with Netherlands in final because of Match schedule (only in final).

Switzerland 0 - 1 Czech
Portugal 2 - 0 Turkey

From the first match and after the injury of Frei I don't think there is a chance for Switzerland to cross the group,also after watching Portugal and Turkey,the players who were good in this match from my mind is Sverkos and Ujfalusi from Czech and I didn't see any good one in Switzerland.

and about the second match,Portugal was very good and Turkey wasn't bad and I don't think it will be easy for Czech to go with Portugal in the next stage,the players of the match from my mind are the strong defender Servet and Kazim from Turkey,Pepe and Moutinho for Portugal.
and I think now after this match Sterne are happy and Zodi aren't.

I agree about Benzema possibly being the star of the tournament, he is a very talented player and this tournament will earn him a transfer to a big club next season - if his great goal against Manchester United in the Champions League didn't already do it.

As for Euro 2008, I think France or Holland will win, if either of them get out of that group of death with Italy, they have a great chance of reaching the final.

Don't forget Croatia, they beat England at Wembley to eliminate them from the qualifying phase and play great football too. They have the weakest team out of the 16 in their group, Austria, and Poland, who never progress from the group stage of finals.

I'm agree with you about Karim Benzema,I think he who will be one of the best players in the world in the next year,now France could get a new stars when she lose some,Zidane retired but Ribery,Benzema and Nasri are now a big players.

Holland has a very strong attack and goalkeeper but weak defense and unstrong midfield but this on papers only and we will see in the ground who is the best,the football isn't by names.
about Croatia,they have a good team and I don't think they won't cross the first round unless if Austria succeed to go with Germany,Don't forget the Austrians are playing at their home,but I don't think there is a chance for Croatia after the quarter-finals.

Actually i'm fucking stoked we didn't qualify, i think it's funny as fuck, as unpatriotic as that sounds.

I hate when we have Rooney and Owen injured and there's not another international level striker in England so we have to play Crouch up front on his own. That's what buying foreign players into club sides and not cultivating local talent gets you. Football should take a page from rugby's book, there are loads of great players that can step up and play for their country at any time, if there were half a dozen fly halfs injured we'd still have players that could step up. Seriously we don't deserve to be in Euro 2008.

I see you are right but honestly I don't like the English team but England isn't less than some teams in this Euro,but as you said the high number of the foreign players in the their league make them couldn't find the good substitutes,but don't forget that those foreign players are who made the final of the Champions league between two English clubs.
