Title 18 -- CRIMES AND OFFENSES Abortion on unborn child of 24 or more weeks gestational age. (a) Prohibition.--Except as provided in subsection (b), no person shall perform or induce an abortion upon another person when the gestational age of the unborn child is 24 or more weeks. (b) Exceptions.-- It shall not be a violation of subsection (a) if an abortion is performed by a physician and that physician reasonably believes that it is necessary to prevent either the death of the pregnant woman or the substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function of the woman. No abortion shall be deemed authorized under this paragraph if performed on the basis of a claim or a diagnosis that the woman will engage in conduct which would result in her death or in substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function. It shall not be a violation of subsection (a) if the abortion is performed by a physician and that physician reasonably believes, after making a determination of the gestational age of the unborn child in compliance with section 3210 (relating to determination of gestational age), that the unborn child is less than 24 weeks gestational age. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- This is a legal prohibition, not talking into account the religious obligations, being observed in Pennsylvania, don't know about other states, though this rule is exactly the same in the U.K and Ireland. |

As far as Macau is concerned all i can say that its a is a small territory on the southern coast of China. Administered by Portugal until 1999, it was the oldest European colony in China, dating to the 16th century. The administrative power (in Portuguese "poder administrativo") over Macau was transferred to the People's Republic of China in 1999, same thing that hapened to Honk Kong in 1997. |

BoyDoc,
You pick one of my statements out, and quote it and then paste a statute from a single state. What were you trying to say? The fact that one state outlaws abortion after a specific period of time has nothing to do with the statement I made. My statement simply points out that the various religions and the medical community can not agree when a fetus becomes a human being. The legal world has never come up with an answer either. No where in that statute does it state that the fetus is now considered a human being, just that abortion is not legal from that point in PA. If you pole the 50 states, you will get 50 different answers which only backs my point! |

......
For my money, I think the girl impragenated should have the sole right to decide whether she goes ahead or not, because rest of them are just preaching and yapping, while it's her who will have to go through the ordeal, and not only for nine months - but for a lifetime.......
