Members Only Section - Rape Board

Hey there.

Many of us posters of movies have experienced the deletion of our files from RS because of complains. I know I've said before that the movie section must be totaly free but afte what happened to BoredMom's posts I think I changed my mind.
Maybe we must request our admin to make the movies section members only.
Or even better accesible to members with a number of posts (let's say 10 or 20) or higher.

What do you think?

I think it's a shame we couldn't do members only. Maybe not for the entire board, but for the uploaded stuff. Look at what happened to SayNo. It was tragic. He put in all that work, and it was wiped out.

But -- I won't make waves. I'm just happy to be a part of this board. Best on the net I think. But I can't see trying to share if things keep getting deleted within a day or two of posting.

This board has gone so active since I joined. I use to search high and low for the really good movies and now look -- they are all here on this board! What if everyone were to get frustrated by deletions and stop posting? We would all lose out. Surely there must be a fairly easy solution in the wings somewhere.

I know Im a fairly new member here, but I would also like to express a concern for uploading work going to waste. I like others have hours of video to upload and share. Im still somewhat concerned about the pruning of files that seems to happen under "unusual" circumstances.

Would it be possible to put this up to a vote of the members?

No, no voting on this one! RB isn't a democracy! Let me write this out in fine detail. This idea was proposed last year and the subject was debated to death and Admin and the departed Grm and I as the senior mods all agreed to not implement the idea as it doesn't fit RB's style. I haven't changed my mind and I doubt Admin has changed his, so it's not going to happen.

To be honest, i like the RB's style Dude mentions. The free to all one.
On the other hand, its sad to see people's work destroyed.I think a members only section is an idea.But Dude says its not an option.
Well, my suggestion to members who upload movies is: STOP
No more movies.Not a single one.

Just would hate to see that happen, but it may come to that. This place is a wonderful resource. And would hate to see a few assholes ruin it for everybody.

I do respect the Mods ruling on this, I also run a forum and we dont rule democratically there either

I agree, this place is a wonderful resource. And i speak like this cos i want it remains so....
I think its simple: Do we like Mom's or Sani's or other people movies?
Yes we do.
So, lets do something to protect them!

Well other than stop posting movies, or giving the links to members who have made a few posts/uploads and not making the links public. I dont see an easy solution to this problem.

I posted on megarotic. and then on another board got complaints from some users that they can't access megarotic. So, I posted on rapidshare.

They got deleted. No, and it was in the controlled section of the said forum.

There must be some weasel out there that turns in sites to the file hosting service.

Yeah, after all that trouble of splitting up my files to fit within the 100 M limit.
and loading each separately.

The only way a controlled section can work is to have something like a paid section like on another forum I know. This way, the offender can be tracked down and beaten like a dog.

All this involves more work for the moderators.

Like Dude said! Not only NO BUT HELL NO!! Our Poor admins are working hard enough to make this site enjoyable and SAFE for all of us here!

There are quite a few worms attached to a lot of Downloaded Movie Clips and they carry a nasty virus that could possibly crash a Site LIKE OURS or others!??

Mostly folks just PLEASE agree with the Mods and Admins here that it wont work!?? Like Somedude said this board is very unique from others and we should all agree too keep it that way!

As a member who has seen some of his uploaded vids deleted because of "complaints received", I like your thinking on this issue ego

. To put it bluntly, perhaps the time has come for the uploaders to put-up (or rather not) or shut-up on this matter.

Won't work? Where did you read that sindy? All I heard from dude is that it was deemed a non-option. That could be for many reasons apart from those of a logistical nature. The reasons why it was declared a non-option have not been shared beyond saying that it would be inconsistent with RB's "style". The message that I'm getting is that admin and the mods are quite content to have RB's syle sustained, in part anyway, on the backs of those who upload movies. The movie uploaders will have to decide whether to accept this, or to opt-out.

Well, I can understand every uploader of movie files pretty good since I've been there. So my sympathies are with every one of you having just enough right now. But look at it that way:
Accessible to registered members only would mean what?
More people who want to download movies for free would register to get access to that section. Actually most of them I'd say because the movies would still be free, so most of them would gladly agree to the small inconvenience of registering.
Limiting access to users with a certain number of posts would do what?
As some members have already shown us collecting numerous posts without saying anything worth mentioning isn't too hard. All it would bring us is an increase of hollow posts to reach the necessary number of posts.
I don't think frustrated or spiteful complaints would drop that much after implementing those features.

Stern, I think that we would all agree that there is no such thing as a perfect filter, but any filtration is likely better than none at all; however, isn't this a case of cart before the horse? Logistics could be discussed once a willingness to open-up this issue for discussion has been expressed. At the moment, there appears to be no such willingness to reconsider the matter. The sentiment seems to be that it was discussed before, don't think that anything has changed since then, so save your breath.....the end. Using this logic, no decision would ever be subject to re-evaluation in the absence of a change in circumstances.

Actually I am discussing the subject. Even if somedude and admin are against it what is keeping you from talking about anyhow? Maybe if you show them what it is you're thinking and why they'd be more willing to reconsider ...
I just stated - assuming the proposed filter (as you call it) was implemented - what I think about the "good" it would do that's all.
If you have a different opinion about it you're welcome to share, I never prohibited a discussion about it.
I think not talking about it because you're told there wouldn't be any further discussions about it is putting the cart before the horse much more than you say I do.

I will keep on posting movies. That's for sure. Until I run out of clips of course.
But if any of my links gets deleted again I won't reupload it. Too much time and effort.

Now about the democracy stuff mentioned before. Of course it is not a democracy here. Admin and Mods have the rule of the board in their hands and everyone knows and accept this!
But this place is alive due to the posters, and I am not talking only for the movie section posters, all of the posters. If no one post anything then RB will die. NO ONE want this to happen. As I already said before I will try my best to keep this place alive.
But I cannot understand answers like "not an option" or "not RB style". We are talking about something that will parhaps make our links safer and last longer. Styles can change as time passes and board getting bigger. Minds can change when new issues appears.

OK I accept that maybe that is "not an option" for admin and the mods.
Any alternative solution? Are we alone on this? Our links will remain unprotected or we all can try to find the best solution for this?

I re-read dude's posts. What I read was "Not an option" and "It's not going to happen". I certainly did not detect any hint of flexibilty to re-open the issue for discussion, did you? Stern, are you contradicting dude's assessment in this matter?
