Wow, I'm a member of a few forums and this is THE FIRST TIME I've ever heard of someone taking offence to another poster adding to the thread. WTF????? If I post some clips and someone else jumps in with some others, IMO that's adding to the thread, not "hijacking" it in any way. Many posters will sometimes say "all posters welcome". Perhaps that wasn't done in the thread in which Mr. Ripa posted, but I can't see how that could be detrimental to the thread. If I ever find some material that hasn't been posted here and I start a thread, I INSIST that anyone with suitable material jump in and make my thread better.

Sorry to get away from the posts that Jack has offered, but that just had to be said. Any comments for me from any members will be welcome in my PM box. And Jack, thank you for these cool clips, brother.

Since you are a member of a few forums, then you obviously missed something or haven't been involved in forum life for very long. On most major forums you will find a rule against hi-jacking topics.
1: Hijacking a topic occurs when a poster asks about his problems in a thread already opened by another poster seeking help.
2: Hijacking a topic occurs when a poster post links in a thread already opened by another poster that are not relevant to the current post or with the purpose to draw attention to his own post rather than starting his own thread.
That is called bad Forum etiquette..

If someone post a movie and are missing a part and someone steps in and post the missing part in the topic, then it is not hi-jacking but a helpful gesture and would certainly be appriciated.
If a link have died and someone is stepping in with a new link to the same movie as the one who died, then it is not hi-jacking either but as above, a helpful gesture.

Luckily we have good mods here who knows the Forum etiquette.

i am only speaking for me . but i'm on quite a few forums and on almost all of them it is bad taste to post in a user named thread . if i wanted to share my thread with other people posting whatever , whenever i would not have put my name on it . and posting pics and vids is not the same as saying you liked this or didn't like that .

Jack The Ripa, by uploading a movie, is helping the forum out. Why is he getting heat over a "violation" that doesn't hurt anybody? Sure his post could've been placed in another thread, but is it necessary to tell him to "fuck off"?

Added to that, he even says that he doesn't have such a pre-conception of such a format; give him a break already.

I respect you Lupo but I think you and a few other people here are way overboard with the whole "forum etiquette" part. You're not setting good examples of what that's supposed to be.
