why does my post count always go back to zero? - Rape Board

ive been coming to this board for over a year,and let me say i appreciate all the hard work everyone has done with their contributions,i myself do not have any videos so this is why thanks is apperciated.anyway because i see there are now hidden blocks in order to see some new videos,in some cases in excess of 50,i tried to leave a comment on the videos i downloaded in the past to increase my count,yes it is my fault for not leaving a comment right after but i cant do anything about that now.i did like 10 post of videos i dowloaded and got a message saying take it easy on the spam count,so idid not do any more,the next day my post count was zero,the next day i left message of a video i dowloaded,the next day my post count was zero.im always looged in,this has happened like 4 times,all i do is leave 1 or 2 post in 1 day,everytime the next day it goes back to zero,am im being punished or something,what exactly did i do.

I hate to single out an individual but you asked so maybe I can shed some light on your plight. Look at your posting history so far this morning. In the span of just over an hour you have made 37 posts so lets review the posts you made:

1 post {this one} you wrote a sentence.
1 post {a request which should be in the request section thread} - 3 words "yeah please find"
1 post {you must have really liked} - 2 words "great thanx"
34 posts {various sorts} - 1 word "thanks","nice" etc.

Do you see the problem here? For all intents and purposes every post you made today was SPAM. Insincere thank-yous are the garbage which is choking this board and making it nearly impossible for responsible members to find real threads with new posts.

You are not alone you are but one of many. And you can't use the argument about how you really meant all your one word accolades as many of them were on thread which you couldn't see the links or with all the links long dead. The speed with which you went through threads some as long as 15 pages is astonishing indeed.

The solution to the problem is to stop SPAMMING, if you missed an opportunity to say thanks in the past, tough. Now that you've decided to get involved in the workings of the board do it responsibility. Visit other areas of the forum, as has been said time and again. There are silly {in my mind

} game threads in the Idle Talk forum which only need a one word post and it's perfectly acceptable there as that's the nature of the game.

But you and all other "just beginning" posters need to respect the rules and structure under which the board is intended to operate if you cannot do that then you need to look elsewhere. Just because you see a thread with post limits of 300 doesn't mean SPAM the board in an hour just to see them. There are plenty of links still being continuously posted with very low or no limits, START WITH THEM!!

The regular posters will be much more agreeable to reposting links upon request if they are gone by the time you reach a post count limit if you've been a contributor on the board rather than a hindrance. So read the FAQ's and enjoy the forum the RIGHT way.

We already stated - several times - one or two word, generic spam posts will be deleted without further consideration or information.

Sorry if I have to be so very blunt here but:

If people are not willing or simply too stupid to stop spamming the board to increase their post count - ALTHOUGH there even is a special thread to do so in - I just delete their useless posts in the actual movie threads and ban them when it happens again, end of the line!

Personally, I stayed on the porch for quite a while before I decided to try to run with the big dogs. I read the RULES and I studied the methods of others. Even so, I got bit a few times. It is the nature of the Internet and indeed, this particular board. I suggest that you get back on the porch and read the rules regarding dredging up old threads. Read the rules.

My friend, your first statement would have been more than sufficient and would not have gotten people's hackles up. We've all accidentally posted in an old thread at one time or another.

To answer your question on a quick post count, that is a part of a very sad time on RB. Luckily the cause of those restrictions was discovered and handled so it is no longer necessary to have a particular post count in order to see movies.

A friendly tip to the newbs.. Thanks are important so dont be put off, just make your Thankyou post mean something. Try to throw in a joke or witty comment, we all like humor.

Also mentioning something in particular about the thread or movie doesnt hurt. That lets the Mods know you,ve actually gone thru and looked at the thread rather than just throwing up a meaningless two or three words spam post to boost your post count.

On that note like Sierra said post count isnt even required anymore so unless you having something worth saying just keep the spam posts to yourself.
