Grey rep.. - Rape Board

Anyone care to explain what the grey rep means...I know green and red...fairly obvious...but grey? Ive now recieved 3 grey rep since we came back from the dead.

Does this mean indifference to a post...lol...but then, if you were indifferent why would you bother giving rep?

no it can't mean that cuz when you give rep you have to check either approve or disaprove. I don't think you can have both unchecked.
My guess is its the admin giving rep or comment.

nope not that either. i could see who gave the rep in cases mentioned and def wasnt admin.

oh I guessed admin cuz he might have extra options maybe its a bug then the mysterious grey reper never seems to add their name to their rep giving either so just adds to the mystery.

Admin has a grey rep point IIRC. It means disabled rep.

I think Admin was the only one with Grey rep, cause you can't give it to him. I think it's neutral and means you have no rep or rep is turned off.

Okay, it is my experience with other VB boards, that when someone with no rep or minus (negative number) rep tries to give rep to someone else, it appears as grey. Also, no rep is awarded to the person they are attempting to pos ( or neg )rep. So, my guess is that the person giving the gray rep is either a newbie (do you start with zero rep?) or someone who is NOT well liked. Hope this helps.

well obviously not telling who gave rep to who...but this scenario did occur to me as seems most likely. have posted on rep board so maybe admin will reply when he gets chance to confirm or not.

I have grey rep from three different members who left names...all of them new, i.e. since september and thus newer since backup...so i dont think its admin...suggest something to do with new membership? x

could be they were themselves on initial rep and hence unable to have an affect on your rep. if so could be a way round people joining under new names just to mess with others rep. we know its been done before the wipe. maybe admin picked up on it. who knows
wouldnt worry. bossman will answer soon..i have no doubt there.

Oh that could be it then lol thats a shame to solve it so quickly though since it was becoming a good mystery talking point.

we should ask darkman or marcdesade or even invite PG back for one day only just to give out rep and see what happens they are nearly always in the negative rep colum so that should be a good test LOL.

@ Grm well just thought he might have that ability in case he wanted to add a comment and not effect rep plus being admin makes him like god of the forum so I figured he might have super forum powers or something

re other changes none other than the ones already noted like lack of public rep score ect.
