I see most people arent doing it, is that for a reason? I CANT CANT CANT be found out lol....just trying to keep my dirty little secrets here, yet at the same time open up and be real with myself for a change

Don't worry about it, BamaGurl. I have it on good authority that Barak Obama is one of our members, but we just don't know which one!
(Methinks he wants to do to one of your gurls what he's doing to economy--"stimulate" it!) |

Most people dont use their pic as an Avitar but many post one or more in their profiles, some send them out by request especially as inspiration for a rape fantasy or as part of role play.

That is entirely up to you, one site is not much different from the next. If there is no link to your real name, then it should be ok. Due to my line of work, I can't put my face pic up, but I wish I could. You should be ok if you put it on your profile instead of your avatar.

OF COURSE this site isn't "safe". It is a public and open forum, any visit can browse. Without having to register everyone dropping by can see all threats, posts and profile information you enter, as well as your profile picture and avatar. If you - for whatever reason - absolutely want to put up a real picture of yourself, you're free to so of course but you should realize every person coming to RB can see it.

Last time I checked I was old enough. I wasn't concerned about how many people viewed, if that was my issues then I would never go into walmart! After all, it's a public popular shopping place, anyone is welcome, they don't even have to buy anything..... And I know they will check me out..the DOMs will anyway haha. My issue was just how popular is this site among average people. When Im hanging out somewhere I don't want strangers coming up saying " hey! I talked to you on rapeboard!"

Maybe an enticing picture of you, cropped at the neck--and no, I'm not suggesting snuff! Or a nice shot with your face turned away?

Hey BamaGurl; What if I said "I will make your wildest fantasies come true." Would that get you shivering. I will be waiting in the WalMart parking lot.
I guess the answer is how recognizable are you? Maybe wear sunglasses in your pic. |

Why do we WANT to show ourselves?

Who would want to keep such an essential element hidden except for the persecution that is sure to follow? But losing my livelihood. Losing my place to live. That is difficult to deal with for anyone. When you are no longer young and carefree that loss is no small thing. |

Question is - is that what we actually want?
Why (being the precise question) do some people even want to show their picture? What has been said is true. A person is so much more that pure physical appearance. Why the need to put a picture up on any online board? People will not honestly like you any better because of a picture they see. They will not like you any less. Except of course they value looks more than anything else. Naturally a picture on a website can be linked, sent, posted elsewhere, etc. ... The person originally pocting that picture might never be "discovered" by someone they know. The possibility is still there of course, so - however unfair they may be - one has always to consider what could happen to or in their life if forced fantasy activities are "exposed". Work, home, family ... there are numerous parts of life that can suffer from such an incident. On a rape fantasy site - fantasy being the operating word - actual looks are never certain. Too many possibility exist to obtain, create, fake or process a picture and sell it as one's own. To socialize, roleplay - essentially enjoy altogether - a forced fantasy site a picture is utterly unnecessary. So posting a picture anyway can mean only one thing: One needs/wants the (eventual) "appreciation" coming with a posted picture. Now - if someone is after exactly that - I will certainly not keep anyone from posting a picture on RB but people should be aware why they do it and what might come of it.

I don't trust anybody's picture on the internet. Ah, the internet! "Where men are men, women are men, and the children are probably cops!"
Whatever I see I imagine is just a symbolic representation of how that individual wants to be perceived in our fantasy universe. So the gorgeous dame could be your 78-year-old grandmother in the nursing home. The virile, rough stud is a junior associate assistant stocking clerk (trainee). And so on. I couldn't think of anything that was especially representative for me, being just your average run-of-the-mill not-quite-over-the-hill sex creep. So I found a picture of two porcupines enjoying an intimate moment (probably consensual, alas) and put that up on another site, just for fun. I'll have to locate it for this one, too. |

I've had friend's pictures end up in copied and then posted and sent to people they really did not want to see them. I've also know one person who had a relative run into them on this site, her father, and recognized her by her picture she posted. But it could be a friend, or coworker, or anyone else you know. Personally I don't care to post what I look like the board but I've sent pictures personally to people I have interacted enough that they have requested them. If you are willing to take the risks, there are plenty who would appreciate your pictures here.

I got creeped out by a guy after RPing with him on here. You really can't be too safe. I would never put my real pic up.

On another board, I've suggested to a friend that she (and another person with some wisdom on the matter) start a thread called,
"Suitors and Stalkers--dealing with unwanted or excessive attention" It would be targeted primarily for females, but not so restricted. Any ideas or interest for something here on RB? |
