Rapidshare Question - Rape Board

Hi,

Can anyone help?

What is it with the cats on Rapidshare? I keep trying to enter the four letters with the cats, but it keeps saying an error has occured. What am I doing wrong?

Rapidshare should list the possible reasons when an error occurs so did you check those?

Yeah, that's a new and rather annoying "feature" of RapidShare.

It's meant to help ensure the person downloading a file is an actual person, as opposed to an automated download.

The way it works is, you have to type the letters that have a cat on them, leave out the letters that don't.

Also, I'm not sure about this, but the letters may be case sensitive as well.

no , not case sensitive but any "0" is the letter o and the letter I and number 1 is hard to tell apart . other than that i haven't had any problems . hope that helps along with the other replies

Not exactly. Computers really aren't known for having a penchant for porn. However, a person could use a download manager to automate the downloading of files and I'm assuming that's what RS is trying to prevent free users from doing and so that's the reason for the CAPTCHA on the free downloads.

It's analogous to the way a spam bot works. A person sets up the bot, but then, the bots goes off on it's own and trolls the net looking for places to post spam. That's the reason you'll see a post here that says something like, hey guys, great site! Followed by 20 links to sites that aren't even vaguely related to rape fantasy.

That's also the reason that most forums, including this one, now use CAPTCHA on registration. The trick with CAPTCHA though is to have an image that's complicated enough that a bot can't figure out, but simple enough that a person can still read it. That's what RS is trying for with their cats.

what is a good download manager program for rapidshare and a good rapidshare search type site?......i am thinking of signing up, but would like to be able to utilize fully.....and be able to select all links at onve to download,,,...thanx

If you have a premium account, downloading becomes much simpler. You can set your account so that all you have to is click the link and the download begins automatically.

I don't really have much personal experience with them, but here is a free download manager.

If you want, search that same site for a program called Internet Download Manager. It's not freeware though. I think it's about $30

Sorry, but I can't help with a way to search RapidShare. But, if you're looking for rape porn, then you'll probably have better luck by looking here and on other rape forums.

dikwad if you google "searching rapidshare.com" , they have a whole bunch of sites just for searching it . if it's a complete movie you want you can type the name and "+ rapidshare.com" and search thru the results

I'm sorry ezzdx, but I cannot find what mistakes JohnnyReb made in his posts. I think he only tried to help. And I didn't get the impression that he wrote like if he was a prof.

Perhaps I don't see something you do. So please, when you have time point the mistakes cause I'm afraid I'm getting old and things are slipping of my attention.

Well, Sani, the reason you can't find any mistakes in my posts here is, there aren't any.

I suppose if you want to get really picky, I was wrong about the letters being case sensitive, but, I never really said they were. I said they might be, that I wasn't sure.

If if there was something wrong in your post (I didn't read it so I can't tell), that's no reason for anyone to critisise you for it. Especially if that person is unable to give the correct information.
People trying to help - even though the given information might not be entirely accurate - is better than nobody stepping up at all. In such a case at least others might correct it and thus offer the help required together in the end.
Trying is always better than just doing nothing.
