I'm not going to vote in your poll because my answer is missing. It's a good idea {not great since I still have flashbacks of the chaos from the post count restrictions on the movie board} but I wouldn't post my picture anyway. I must admit to a certain "curiosity" at times as to what people actually look like but ultimately what does it really matter? Who a person is based on their behavior {to me at least}, is far more important than what they actually look like. I am perfectly happy with my own ideas of people based on their actions and interactions on the board rather than worrying about their physical appearance.

Even if a post count limit is not feasible those who wish to share their pictures can still do so via PM if they want to keep the general public from seeing them. I guess it's just my suspicious nature rearing it's head here because in any forum there are folks who are absolutely truthful about themselves {sometimes too much so!} and there are others whose entire online persona is a fantasy creation in and of itself so which one is sharing their picture? Since I'm not likely to meet anyone here in RL {no one crazy enough to come to this part of the world } I would have no real need to know what they look like. If people want to think of me as a chrome-plated rodent I'm fine with that.

i would post my pic if there was a count limit to see it. I mean I've already posted it but took it down as I got paranoid. I think it's good for members like me who don't really have that much to do with other members, I mean people here are cool, and I already exchange pm's with some really cool people. But I was thinking more for the people who roleplay, like they might really see someone they like, who they wouldn't have had the chance to before, and want to contact them for a roleplay etc.

I have no problem if this will be restricted or not, I have already posted my photo. I created it cause I did not want to bother admins with (possibly) lot of same requests. We will see, if we have enough members, which would use that feature. Then proper people may decide if it is worth to put an effort in it.

But your opinion is always very appreciated

I had Pmed Somedude a couple of days ago about the hide the links function for pictures and he said it had been disabled.I did not know if it would have worked but it seemed like a good idea.

If the post count was high enough i would post my pic.

like Shy, none of them were completely applicable, as i've already posted mine. But, i select 'If it would be hidden, I'd definitely post my photo too.' Thats what i would most like the results of the poll to be. I would be more comfortable with my pic being there if there was a post count requirement to view it.

now, curiousity pokes its head, and i wonder, how many posts would you make it? Would you rather it be based on rep? I think i would make mine a 120 post count or 420 rep.

that chaos resulted from the hidden links being to movies. Tons and tons of lurkers who came here for nothing but the movies had to up their post count to see movies (its why i began posting). With the pics, the only people THAT interested in seeing them would be members who actually had enough of a connection to the other members to wonder what they look like. I think you would see a very select few people trying to raise their post count, but nothing like with the movie section.

This is of course possible, but, i wonder what a lot of people on the board look like, and am not going to go on a massive pm campaign to find out.

So .., let me get this straight ... some people voted "no" (meaning "I wouldn't post a picture of myself") but still they're using pictures found on the internet to show around? If they show pictures of somebody else around anyway, why would those people care to vote "no"?

I haven't voted but I still wouldn't post any pictures of me. What are you saying? Just because I don't want any guys jerking off on my image or - now think about THAT one - simply because I want my personal privacy secured any not have anyone I possibly know in real life find my pictures here ... ?

I thought I was simply saying that a specific area within RB would be needed not that we shouldn't post pics for eachother. posting pics is something you either want to do or not. I am no stranger to this but then I like the attention. If this is about if we should post pictures of ourselves then yeah, but only if you want to

Maybe - like SSR did - they might not have voted at all (I didn't, too). Maybe some people just don't like the idea for their own reasons. That's not "ruining it for everybody", that's just the nature of a poll.

I am not saying you're definitely wrong about what you said, either, I just wanted to make sure nobody )who doesn't feel like sharing pictures) is attacked for their choice.

By the way: The decision if such a feature is implemented (and how for that matter) in the future surely won't be based entirely on the numbers in a public poll.

No, this feature is not necessary.
Basically for people who don't care. Who don't want to post their pictures and are not interested in seeing others pictures.

I thought it would be suitable for people who already posted their photo or for those that are thinking of that, but are afraid of someone find it by accident (just browsing the net) and may know them.

I don't mind standing naked on a square with other people all naked too. But I mind be there naked alone or with few more, when others are fully clothed and I don't like standing there among others, if some attention is on me.

I want to say. I don't mind posting my photo in section where other members do that. If it would be restricted somehow, I think more members will do that and that is better then. But I won't ask people by PM and will not send it by PM to everyone - it is going to be too personal for me then

As far as standing naked in a square, i'd rather do that than someone find my pic on here, naked has never been a problem for me, always loved streaking...especially up through the quad...there's other coming.

for me the value of adding a member pic is just that i would like to put a name to the avatar/username, its not something that is NEEDED, but something i would enjoy, just feel like i know people better when i can picture them.
