Anybody Worried?

Amazing that after we have a quote age issue unquote we now find out that this sick former teacher is claiming to have drugged and raped JonBenet Ramsey. You know what worries me? That people will be all of a suddenly worried about people who fantasize at sites like this when they should apparently be screening who they let teach first grade girls closer. I know they didn't say he taught her but he was a former first grade teacher and she was about first grade age. Do you want your little girl's first grade teacher to be a child rapist?

I am not worried. I live in Maryland and it was just released that the school systems in Maryland employed 250 sex offenders. Some as teachers and others as bus drivers. So what is one more?

I also think there is a lot more to come out in the case. The news media is the only ones that are calling the case closed.

Are you serious Dagger? Well if you are it's no wonder I hate the Baltimore Ravens; I'm a Browns fan. Also I still feel that Ray Ray knows what happened in Atlanta when he was charged with murder, now he may not have done it and I don't think he did but he knows all about it. Ok back to the issue, I'm more concerned with these dumb ass parents that are displaying there young children onstage like little Miss America's. Let them be children. I think this is a good part of what contributed to her death. Oh Dagger if that is true then your state's school board should be fired.

Goddam but you are 100% CORRECT! I am always incredulous when people who tried their utmost to make their little girls be sexy and then are amazed that people think their little girls are sexy. It's like chumming for sharks. YOu put enough blood in the water and jaws will come.

And you know it's funny that every study I see referred to in articles about violent crime (sexual and otherwise) definitively concludes that it is the pervasive presence of violence in a societies culture (mass media, TV, video games etc) that leads to increases in violent behavior,
and that the public availability of sex in those same venues does not.
If I'm wrong and this guy did it, the better send for Andy of Mayberry in Boulder because they need a new sheriff.

Actually neither scenario worries me. I do not think that this will bring attention to fantasy sites such as this one and I don’t think that it will bring all that much more attention to screening of teachers. After looking into the background of the man in question he seems to simply be a kook. His story does not add up. Details such as his admission of picking her up at school and drugging her don't work when you consider that no drugs were found in her body during the autopsy and she her school was on winter break at the time. Lets not forget, witnesses place Karr in Alabama at the time of the murder.

But even beyond that...Everything I have seen describe him as a student teacher or substitute teacher and he was let go when the charges of child pornography became known. In truth, the screening process for these positions (sub or student teacher) might be a bit more lax but even so he never worked in the same state as the child. And if what I have seen is correct never worked as a full-time teacher in he US. This might not be correct but I am working from what I have found so far about the man. Most of the teaching experience listed is outside of the US so I don't think there will be a lot of backlash over that. Plus, most of what people know about his teaching experience comes from his own resume and is VERY vague. If he is in fact attention seeking there is no reason to believe his resume and some of the information on it has already proved difficult to verify.

Finally, the last known connection between Karr and the Ramsey family was that he and the Ramsey's both lived in the suburbs of Atlanta when Jon Benet was an infant. I'm just not convinced that this man's confession is going to have much effect on anything...except of course giving him is 15 minutes of fame and reopening old wounds for the family.

Couldn't agree more Becka, they're already having doubts about his guilt. I find it hard to believe that her killer would be found this long after the crime was committed, unless they have evidence that only they know about. I didn't know she was raped? I only thought she was strangled. I still blame the parents, partially, not for the actual crime but for parading her around like a preteen Miss America. I've always thought these child pageants were stupid. Let the children be children. Unless you are getting them into acting, then that's the exception as child actors/actresses are quite common.
