Secondly, why would anyone lie about his or her gender?
I'm male and certainly couldn't (convincingly) pretend to be female.
There are innate patterns of speech, syntax, and even sentence structure
that really give it away for most people... occasionally someone will
throw you a ringer, but I can at least hazard a guess after a few paragraphs.
Anyone who can't probably couldn't be sure even if they were told.
I don't trust you or anyone to accurately give a barometer of who they are -
but I do trust my ability to cut through the facades of bullshit others don.
