My Lesbian Encounter!!!!
Los Angeles being the city it is, it had to happen sooner or later.
Well, today when I stepped out for a little snack, this college looking girl intercepted me on the street. She was carrying a clipboard and I immediately knew she was asking for signatures for a...um, "political cause" of some kind. Her cause was a "Vote NO!" on Proposition 8. For those of you not familiar with this proposition, it has to do with an amendment to the California Constitution that provides that "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." So Proposition 8 is basically an attempt to set an anti same-sex marriage law. Well, this girl approached me: Girl: Hello, sir, may I speak with you for a second? Me: Yes. How can I help you? Girl: I belong to ......( I don't remember what organization...) and we are collecting signatures to stop Proposition 8 which is going to be on the ballot next November. Me: Proposition 8... Girl: Yes, it's the proposition that wants to deny gays the right to marry. Me: Oh! Yes... naturally. But I don't understand... I thought gays had the right to marry... Girl: Yes, gays can marry now, but if Proposition 8 passes, we won't be able to marry anymore. Me: What do you mean you won't be able to marry anymore? Girl: Well, sir, gays can marry now thanks to the law passed last May by the California Supreme Court. But if Proposition 8 passes, the law allowing gays to marry will be struck down, and we will lose that right. Me: Oh, I see. Well, first of all, marriage is not a "right." Second of all, gays can marry just fine. It's not true that gays can't marry. Girl: Yes, we can marry now, but if Proposition 8 passes... Me: No, you don't understand, traditionally, gays could marry with or without Proposition 8. And if Proposition 8 passes, gays will be able to marry just the same. Girl: What do you mean, sir? Me: I mean that you would be able to marry someone of the opposite sex, just like the rest of us. So what you mean by "gay marriage" is actually "same - sex marriage." Girl: Well, same thing. Me: No. Not really. Girl: So do you think that the definition of marriage should be kept the way it is? Me: Yes. I think it should not be changed. Girl: (Glad...) Good! Very good! Now, I would like you, if you would be so kind as to sign a petition... Me: No, you don't understand. What I mean is... I want the concept of traditional marriage to stay the way it is. Girl: Traditional marriage... Me: Exactly. A man and a woman. I don't want that to change. Girl: ( Enthusiasm fading...) Oh. Me: Yes. I'm not interested and seeing a guy marrying another guy. I'm opposed to it philosophically. Girl: Oh. OK, then, sir. Thanks for your time, I appreciate it. Me: No problem. And she went on to intercept another guy walking down the street. |

Don't you think I would know the object of my love? She had a square jaw, short hair, no tits, and no bra under her T-shirt, either. Oh, she also said: Girl: Yes, gays can marry now, but if Proposition 8 passes, we won't be able to marry anymore. |

She sounds very classy in the way of going about it. She didnt try to call you a bigot or change your mind. She simply accepted your beliefs and went on her way. No harm in that.

Yes, she was nice. On the other hand, I was nice to her, too. And she would have been wrong in calling me names, anyways. She had no right to. We just have philosophical differences, that's all. |

Hehehe. I had an encounter like that, but my lesbian was angrier....
In Australia, gays can have civil union that give all the legal rights of marriage (except, trivially, the right to call it a marriage). They were protesting that the government wouldn't give them "gay marital rights". Stood there for a while arguing that they DID have gay marital rights, just not gay marriage. |

That was hilarious how you baited her in to think that you would sign the petition. Was there a momentary pause for you to think of that, or was it a split second decision? Either way, wow!

She asked me if I wanted to keep the definition of marriage the way it is now. And I answered," yes, I don't want it to change." However, when I told her that I "didn't want to change" the way marriage was being understood, I was referring to traditional marriage, not the "new" definition of marriage in which a guy can marry a guy, and a gal can marry another gal. That's not what I meant, but she took it that way. Therefore, I had to clarify it for her. It was just a misunderstanding. |

Yeah. Like, I've opened a thread with pictures and movies of lesbo chicks viciously raping each other, and now I'm going to seriously feel "offended" by a picture of three dykes getting it on...
Jesus, guys... what's wrong with you these days? |
