Chain story - Rape Board

Okay let's see what you people make of this. It requires creativity rather than lust.

It worked brilliantly on a maths forum, but mathematicians are as a rule more creative and brainy than rapists.

Everyone posts five to twenty five words. You may end a sentence and begin the next in your post, or of course fill the middle of a sentence, begin it or end it only. Unless you begin a sentence when you begin your post, start with a small letter preceeded by a '...'. Unless you end a sentence when you end your post, end with a '...'.

Thye story builds up accordingly. Consecutive posts are not allowed. The story must be grammatically correct, so any post which violates this is invalid. Wit and innovation are stronly encouraged; lust is not.

I suggest the moderators make this a sticky.

I'll start:

On the dark night, half the lamps along that road had gone out, and ...

(You forgot the leading '...')

And what's more, the other half hadn't been lit at all.

Everyone too busy to notice that, in the chilly darkness evil lurked ready to pounce upon the innocent!
