I almost got paid yesterday. I've been doing some gardening work for a real estate friend of mine and he paid me via personal check for the work I've done so far.

So. I went to his bank because I still bank I out of state and the pinch-faced chubby girl at the counter "helping" me gave me the eyeball and claimed that the (his) signature on the check didn't match what they had on file. So they tried to call him (insert awkward embarrassment), and he didn't answer his mobile. Shocking. So I got turned away. And by the time I realized he had called to say it was resolved it was like quarter to 5. So I try to make it and pull in at 5:02 and the bitch locking up gives me the "oh well" shrug and shuts the door. Not that I would have stopped and asked that they stay open any longer as I was just wanting to see if maybe their lobby was open until 5:30 by chance anyway, but at least mouth "I'm sorry" in my general direction or SOMETHING. Don't smirk and shrug at me. Cunt.

Implication being that I had forged the check, I assume.
