Well in America things are banned all of the time and it really doesn't stop people from doing as they please (example: Americans ban alcohol in prohibition-speak easys pop up, people die from alcohol poisoning, Crime rates increase by black market transfer and manufacturing of alcohol, Americans wise the hell up and think hey wait this isn't working...) that being said have you ever consider using an ISP blocker? Also, you could start a new site with a completely unrelated name using whatever you like so it wouldn't hit on the banned word(s) like Insano-Roleplay funtime site =] OR you could do it the legitimate way and lobby everyone you know who's into fantasy play be it rape or other and appeal the hell out of the would-be-law; saying it violates your civil rights to freedom of speech and right of assembly. Not to mention it's fantasy play so you could even demand that if they ban this site they should ban ALL porn sites, cartoon sites, movie sites, Role-playing video game sites on basis that they are ALL also fantasy. Hell even scare the law makers by saying that the banning of sites such as this one, which provide a healthy and safe outlet for people to interact and explore their sexuality, they'd be waking a sleeping giant. The crime rate would sky-rocket if not by acts of rape itself, by simply trying to access forbidden sites. This would in turn waste money and time of the judicial system and clog up jails which could be used for good reasons like I dunno housing murderers perhaps?
Matter of factly we've used this argument to stop the banning of fire-arms and, to date, it's been successful. truly hope this helps and do keep me informed!

That will probablyu be the next step of the British government, Violent porn etc is allready illegal over here. All becaure some scumbag freak raped and murdered a School teacher and he watched violent porn, so they have banned it. All because of the actions of one dickhead. So are they going to ban violent video games/Alcohol, etc? Next we will be eating our dinner with a set of spoons as they will ban knives and forks!

the UK and Australia first banned private ownership of guns. Something to think about.

I know we have more than a few Aussie members GagGirl being one. Would be a shame to lose her, and the rest of you. Some countries such as Iran, North Korea and China are quite expert at blocking sites and limiting access.
It would be tragic to lose you guys.... if they actually do it and are serious about blocking things like this I'm not sure anything can be done. The only thing that comes to mind is to try and use a proxy server to try and get around the block.. but that's iffy at best. I am no expert... maybe one of our more tech minded members has some input??

It's possible to set up a dedicated proxy outside of Australia. But it's complicated for amateurs.

I'm an Aussie.. and this has got me worried.
If anyone has any tech to get around this please let us know. P.S. I heard that the UK will introduced laws to prohibit people whom use Peer-to-peer sites to download 'ripped' movies, TV Shows etc from EVER REGISTERING WITH AN ISP AGAIN!!!!! |
