Default The Rapist Secret (women only)

Let's imagine you've been struggling for years to overcome your rape trauma. You've spent billion dollars in shrinks, you've tried everything to no avail. But one day, ho miracle, you finally start to find a way to get better. You've met a man, a gentle intelligent charming man whose presence and delicateness helps you to talk about your past. A very strong relation begins, you fall in love and start to enjoy life again.

Once upon a lovely evening chatting on pillow with your beloved man, he suddenly pours out a secret to you:

- I was the one who raped you in that long and dark tunnel many years ago. Forgive me my darling, that was the only way for me to overcome the severe anger & frustration issues I had back then. I am the one who ruined your mental health. But now that we met in a different light, my only will is to love you forever and never -

What would you do ?
Accept his love ?
Tell the police about him ?

Quote:
One Sunday, as she had gone for a walk along the Champs-Elysees to freshen herself after the labors of the week, she caught sight suddenly of a woman who was taking a child out for a walk. It was Madame Forestier, still young, still beautiful, still attractive.
Madame Loisel was conscious of some emotion. Should she speak to her? Yes, certainly. And now that she had paid, she would tell her all. Why not?
She went up to her.
‘Good morning, Jeanne.’
The other did not recognize her, and was surprised at being thus familiarly addressed by a poor woman.
‘But...Madame...’ she stammered. ‘I don’t know...you must be making a mistake.’
‘No...I am Mathilde Loisel.’
Her friend uttered a cry.
‘Oh!...my poor Mathilde, how you have changed!...’
‘Yes, I’ve had some hard times since I saw you last; and many sorrows...and all on your account.’
‘On my account!...How was that?’
‘You remember the diamond necklace you lent me for the ball at the Ministry?’
‘Yes. Well?’
‘Well, I lost it.’
‘How could you? Why, you brought it back.’
‘I brought you another one just like it. And for the last ten years we have been paying for it. You realize it wasn’t easy for us; we had no money....Well, it’s paid for at last, and I’m glad indeed.’
Madame Forestier had halted.
‘You say you bought a diamond necklace to replace mine?’
‘Yes. You hadn’t noticed it? They were very much alike.’
And she smiled in proud and innocent happiness. Madame Forestier, deeply moved, took her two hands.
‘Oh, my poor Mathilde! But mine was imitation. It was worth at the very most five hundred francs!’

Yeah, why do you French always have a taste for such nice ironic situations?
Must be in the blood.

Funny, that's exactly what my French litterature teacher said. He didn't make us read 'The Necklace' but he said it's typical to the French people to come up with the most twisted love situations. He said we are the most Masochist people. Mabe you should come here Gal (just kidding). I think he also said the word masochist comes from a writter called Sader Masoch. He was the first to write about finding pleasure in pain. But I don't think he was French. ANyway, congrats Gal, you sound like someone who spent a lot of time reading.

Thank you, but really, I hated to read. My knowledge comes from my exclusive education shoved down my throat at the schools I have attended, and to further torment me, I have a very retentive memory, have difficulty forgetting, and that sometimes causes intense headaches.

The author you mention is Leopold von Sacher-Masoch.
"Leopold Ritter von Sacher-Masoch (January 27, 1836–March 9, 1895), writer and journalist, was born in Lemberg, Austria-Hungary (now L'viv, Ukraine). He was the son of the police director in Lemberg and Charlotte von Masoch, a Ukrainian lady of noble birth. He started learning German at age 12.

During his life, Sacher-Masoch was well known as a man of letters, who was seen by some as a potential successor to Goethe. He was a utopian thinker who espoused socialist and humanist ideals in his fiction and non-fiction. He associated with the artistic elite of Middle Europe, but was frequently in debt." (Sounds like Fydor Dostoevsky).

His most famous novel is the "Venus in Furs", a part of a quadrology, a four novel series.

"This novel tells of a man, Severin, so infatuated with a woman, Wanda, that he requests to be treated as her slave, and encourages her to treat him in progressively more degrading ways. Severin describes his feelings during these experiences as suprasensuality. The relationship arrives at a crisis point when Wanda herself meets a man to whom she would like to submit. At the end of the book, Severin, humiliated by Wanda's new lover, ceases to desire to submit, stating that men should dominate women until the time when women are equal to men in education and rights: an ending that can be viewed as both misogynist and feminist."

Pyschologically, the term masochism, was coined by the psychaitrist, Richard von Krafft-Ebbing, in "Pyscopathia Sexualis"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_von_Krafft-Ebing

Personally, I am a masochist, and used to take a piece of rope and rub it between my legs until it bled. Yes, I used to be one sick puppy, and no I did not go to any treatment, my folks sent me to some, but I quit going.

Became more normal, after a long period of self analysis.

And now, finally, the question you put before is more like this.

"The Lady or the Tiger"

Quote:
The "semibarbaric king" of an ancient land utilized an unusual form of administering justice for offenders in his kingdom. The offender would be placed in an arena where his only way out would be to go through one of two doors. Behind one door was a beautiful woman hand-picked by the king and behind the other was a ravenous tiger. The offender was then asked to pick one of the doors. If he picked the door with the woman behind it, then he was declared innocent and as a reward he was required to marry the woman, regardless of previous marital status. If he picked the door with the tiger behind it, though, then he was deemed guilty and the tiger would rip him to pieces.

One day the king found that his daughter, the princess, had taken a lover far beneath her station. The king could not allow this and so he threw the suitor in prison and set a date for his trial in the arena. On the day of his trial the suitor looked to the princess for some indication of which door to pick. The princess, did, in fact, know which door concealed the woman and which one the tiger, but was faced with a conundrum. If she indicated the door with the tiger, then the man she loved would be killed on the spot. However, if she indicated the door with the lady, her lover would be forced to marry another woman and even though he would be alive she would never be with him again. Despite this catch 22 she does end up indicating a door, which the suitor then opens. At this point the question is posed to the reader, "Did the tiger come out of that door, or did the lady?" the question is not answered, though, and is left as a thought experiment regarding human nature.

That is really interesting. It reminds me what a friend told me once : "There are two different kind of love. One is based on illusions, carnal pleasures, aesthetical fascination, etc..and the other one is based on really knowing what's in the bottom of one's heart and having a deep understanding of him". If the lady chooses to send the man to the tiger door, it might be because she is aware they are sharing a delusive love and she prefers to end it on a good image instead of seing another lady changing that image. If she sends the guys to the women door, maybe that would proove she cares about all the wonderful things standing in her lover heart to find a place in the world, no matter if it happens with her or not.

When you talk about self analysis, do you mean introspection or therapy ?

That site Wikipedia is really good. I'm looking for a history web site to fill all the gaps in my culture because I dropped out of school being so fucked up minded. I mean a vulgarisation history web site, like you move the mouse cursor above a 'bar' symbolizing the biggest periods of history (middle age, ect) and when you stop the mouse cursor above a period, it kind of mangnify and show details...

I know that answer I would give, if that were me.
However, another woman could give an entirely different answer.
How well do you know woman kind in general? Now, with this knowledge, would you put yourself in this situation?

Now, my feeling on psychologists and psychaitrists, they are mind rapers.

Two of my most private things are my mind, and my pussy.

And both of them have been violated, taken from me, and is this justice?

No, I went into self meditation, and slowly but slowly climbed out of the "hole".

Yeah, sounds melodramatic, but what other way can I put it?

Not letting nobody touch my mind anymore, it is messed up enough as it is.

Yeah, I enjoyed your take on the "lady or the tiger" stuff.

Another one is this, you are handed a gun, and ordered to shoot one man, if you shoot him, hundred others will go free, if you do not, they would all die, what would you do?

I read a story, real life, about a woman who killed herself rather than give birth to a rape baby.

I guess it all matters on how you make a decision, but once you make it, it cannot be reversed.

Close to where I live, a man, threw himself off the air plane and before, he had cut the parachute strings. Once he jumped off, he changed his mind, but too late, here comes death. Heh, heh, heh.

After my incident, I thought about it, really did, about committing suicide, and took a knife and injured myself, my sister took me to the hospital, and I was saved, for what? More abuse from her? Kept in bondage, 24/7 after that, to keep me safe, she says, yeah, to keep me safe for her damn abuse.

You know, Christianity talks about forgiveness, but it is really difficult, I have cried an ocean of tears, and to what avail, none.
But going through life, one needs an anchor, a foundation, for without it you are lost.

As in the words of your fellow French man, Albert Camus,

"Ah, ma cherie, to be without a Master, or a God, the weight of days can be dreadful."

Yeah, I personally wouldn't call shrinks mind rappers because I find they don't even have the talent to get inside my mind. Here it's like 15 minutes sessions. You come in, they ask a few questions, and you leave. Sometimes they don't even ask questions, they just let you talk for 15 minutes, and that's all. When you ask why it is so short, they refer to that French famous Psychotherapist called Lacan as someone who proved the most important things they need to analyse someone are said in the first 10 minutes. Hmmmm sometimes they don't even look at you, they're watching their computer monitor and they take notes, then they ask for their 40 bucks and you're out 'til next week. It seems like the American 'one hour' standard didn't make his way across the ocean...Thank you doctor, I have the strange feeling that I could have done the same work myself and save a lot of money..but ho yeah...I am a Buddhist so I work on forgiveness and I suppose I don't hate you...you are learning more about yourself on internet forums than with these dumb shrinks...Somedude proved me all my Buddhist practice is crap. I thought I became less sensitive about day to day verbal fights, and I get depressed by some little words in a virtual room made especially for insulting others..hoooo thank you Buddha. Well at least you didn't ask for my money...I am not good enough to apply your teaching in my life.....

As for the example you are talking about you are handed a gun, and ordered to shoot one man, if you shoot him, hundred others will go free, if you do not, they would all die, it reminds me of that movie about terrorism in New-York, called something like 'The Siege'. Casting Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington. Bruce Willis was playing a fascist general. By the end of the movie he is about to torture an Arab guy in order to know where the bomb is going to explode. People around him are going like 'Don't do any barbarians acts like this !' and he answers : 'Here comes the time where one man pain can save hundreds'. I suppose it comes in the same category than your story. Ho god I hope I'll never have to make that kind of choices....

In 24 Season 4, Jack is forced to choose between the life of his girlfriend's estranged husband, or a Chinese man who is his one and only lead left to stop the launch of a nuclear missile at LA. He forces the doctors to only save the man with terrorist connections, despite the other man taking a bullet for him only hours earlier.

So far as psychology, I'm a big fan of cognitive and reality based practice. Boils down to "what do you want, how are you going to get it?" and "What are you doing to yourself that you really would prefer not t?"

Quick, hard-hitting and effective.

Suffering always comes from within. Always.
