The Rapist Secret (women only)
Let's imagine you've been struggling for years to overcome your rape trauma. You've spent billion dollars in shrinks, you've tried everything to no avail. But one day, ho miracle, you finally start to find a way to get better. You've met a man, a gentle intelligent charming man whose presence and delicateness helps you to talk about your past. A very strong relation begins, you fall in love and start to enjoy life again.
Once upon a lovely evening chatting on pillow with your beloved man, he suddenly pours out a secret to you: - I was the one who raped you in that long and dark tunnel many years ago. Forgive me my darling, that was the only way for me to overcome the severe anger & frustration issues I had back then. I am the one who ruined your mental health. But now that we met in a different light, my only will is to love you forever and never - What would you do ? Accept his love ? Tell the police about him ? |

Thank you, but really, I hated to read. My knowledge comes from my exclusive education shoved down my throat at the schools I have attended, and to further torment me, I have a very retentive memory, have difficulty forgetting, and that sometimes causes intense headaches.
The author you mention is Leopold von Sacher-Masoch. "Leopold Ritter von Sacher-Masoch (January 27, 1836–March 9, 1895), writer and journalist, was born in Lemberg, Austria-Hungary (now L'viv, Ukraine). He was the son of the police director in Lemberg and Charlotte von Masoch, a Ukrainian lady of noble birth. He started learning German at age 12. During his life, Sacher-Masoch was well known as a man of letters, who was seen by some as a potential successor to Goethe. He was a utopian thinker who espoused socialist and humanist ideals in his fiction and non-fiction. He associated with the artistic elite of Middle Europe, but was frequently in debt." (Sounds like Fydor Dostoevsky). His most famous novel is the "Venus in Furs", a part of a quadrology, a four novel series. "This novel tells of a man, Severin, so infatuated with a woman, Wanda, that he requests to be treated as her slave, and encourages her to treat him in progressively more degrading ways. Severin describes his feelings during these experiences as suprasensuality. The relationship arrives at a crisis point when Wanda herself meets a man to whom she would like to submit. At the end of the book, Severin, humiliated by Wanda's new lover, ceases to desire to submit, stating that men should dominate women until the time when women are equal to men in education and rights: an ending that can be viewed as both misogynist and feminist." from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopold_von_Sacher-Masoch Pyschologically, the term masochism, was coined by the psychaitrist, Richard von Krafft-Ebbing, in "Pyscopathia Sexualis" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_von_Krafft-Ebing Personally, I am a masochist, and used to take a piece of rope and rub it between my legs until it bled. Yes, I used to be one sick puppy, and no I did not go to any treatment, my folks sent me to some, but I quit going. Became more normal, after a long period of self analysis. And now, finally, the question you put before is more like this. "The Lady or the Tiger" Quote:
Like on the old Let's Make a Deal game show, "Congratulations, you have won, but, you can trade it on, and get more, or get less, it is your choice, if you decide to select what is behind Door #3" Last edited by gal4; 06-22-2006 at 10:12 AM. |

When you talk about self analysis, do you mean introspection or therapy ? That site Wikipedia is really good. I'm looking for a history web site to fill all the gaps in my culture because I dropped out of school being so fucked up minded. I mean a vulgarisation history web site, like you move the mouse cursor above a 'bar' symbolizing the biggest periods of history (middle age, ect) and when you stop the mouse cursor above a period, it kind of mangnify and show details... I know that answer I would give, if that were me.
However, another woman could give an entirely different answer. How well do you know woman kind in general? Now, with this knowledge, would you put yourself in this situation? Now, my feeling on psychologists and psychaitrists, they are mind rapers. Two of my most private things are my mind, and my pussy. And both of them have been violated, taken from me, and is this justice? No, I went into self meditation, and slowly but slowly climbed out of the "hole". Yeah, sounds melodramatic, but what other way can I put it? Not letting nobody touch my mind anymore, it is messed up enough as it is. Yeah, I enjoyed your take on the "lady or the tiger" stuff. Another one is this, you are handed a gun, and ordered to shoot one man, if you shoot him, hundred others will go free, if you do not, they would all die, what would you do? I read a story, real life, about a woman who killed herself rather than give birth to a rape baby. I guess it all matters on how you make a decision, but once you make it, it cannot be reversed. Close to where I live, a man, threw himself off the air plane and before, he had cut the parachute strings. Once he jumped off, he changed his mind, but too late, here comes death. Heh, heh, heh. After my incident, I thought about it, really did, about committing suicide, and took a knife and injured myself, my sister took me to the hospital, and I was saved, for what? More abuse from her? Kept in bondage, 24/7 after that, to keep me safe, she says, yeah, to keep me safe for her damn abuse. You know, Christianity talks about forgiveness, but it is really difficult, I have cried an ocean of tears, and to what avail, none. But going through life, one needs an anchor, a foundation, for without it you are lost. As in the words of your fellow French man, Albert Camus, "Ah, ma cherie, to be without a Master, or a God, the weight of days can be dreadful." |

As for the example you are talking about you are handed a gun, and ordered to shoot one man, if you shoot him, hundred others will go free, if you do not, they would all die, it reminds me of that movie about terrorism in New-York, called something like 'The Siege'. Casting Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington. Bruce Willis was playing a fascist general. By the end of the movie he is about to torture an Arab guy in order to know where the bomb is going to explode. People around him are going like 'Don't do any barbarians acts like this !' and he answers : 'Here comes the time where one man pain can save hundreds'. I suppose it comes in the same category than your story. Ho god I hope I'll never have to make that kind of choices.... |

In 24 Season 4, Jack is forced to choose between the life of his girlfriend's estranged husband, or a Chinese man who is his one and only lead left to stop the launch of a nuclear missile at LA. He forces the doctors to only save the man with terrorist connections, despite the other man taking a bullet for him only hours earlier.

So far as psychology, I'm a big fan of cognitive and reality based practice. Boils down to "what do you want, how are you going to get it?" and "What are you doing to yourself that you really would prefer not t?"
Quick, hard-hitting and effective. Suffering always comes from within. Always.
