I'm all for the theories being presented here but they simply do not apply to rape victims, families, and bastard children.

Obviously you didn't pay attention to what I said, or didn't understand. To elaborate:

1: When (not if) it becomes possible to heal any potential damage associated with a rape
2: When it becomes possible to erase memories

Then it becomes possible to make a rape as if it never happenned.

VD:

1) Different women take the experience differently. Wendy McElroy has reported viewing other events in her life as worse and more traumatic, and some feminists think that the victimization narrative of rape is a self-fulfilling prophecy that must be surpassed! Never should rape be trivialized, but I believe we sell human nature short if we say that it can never be surpassed.

2) People here were not speaking from a psychological or actually scientific perspective but from a philosophic or scientific one: That is, a few viewers identified something chaotic/decaying and therefore arguably entropic about rape, then others pointed out that were it possible to reverse the memories, physical side effects and symptoms, and possibly even event itself, it would be as if it never happened. That made me wonder (and this may be a rape fantasy series I publish, BTW): Imagine if Bill Murray's character in Groundhog Day decided that, hey, since time resets and no one's going to remember anything (indeed, the event would have been retroactively written out of existence), why not enjoy himself? And, more importantly, would that behavior be right? In other words: Do we attack rape because of the pathology that is characterized in the rapist or simply the deed itself, or somewhere inbetween?
