Default Do you believe Clemens?

I'm not a huge baseball fan, I have to admit, but the Clemens story has caught my interest. Give me a f'n break, Roger.

I have two sons. The look on The Rocket's face in that 60 Minutes interview last night was one every mother will recognize. I wasn't sure what to think until I saw that face on TV.

I'm interested in what you think.

Apologize to the non-Americans for what probably seems an obscure reference.....

Roger Clemens is a huge star in American baseball. He is nearing the end of his career. Allegations were made that he was able to stay at the top of the sport so long because he took steroids and human growth hormone. He denies the allegations.

thay should legalise all drugs in sports and then have a real olympics - that would be so cool - imagine watching a mutherfucker run 100 metres in like 4 seconds !!!!!!!!!

I was thinking the same. We use technology in Forumla one and other sports to improve the cars performance, why should they not use drugs to improve there's, at the end of the day they will still need to train as hard, no point taking gym queen pills unless they train with it.

Lots of blinking and looking away during his interview (signs of a guilty conscience) and he hasn't come out and said "I never took steroids." He only says things like "With all that I've done for baseball I should get a break."

He's done it AS SO MANY OTHERS. I think it's kinda dumb that it's become such a big deal. The reason for sports is entertainment and I'm entertained by seeing juiced up athletes putting up big statistics.

I know Maddogg's comment was tongue in cheek but I think with recent incidents, ie. football players in perfectly good health collapsing on the pitch and dying, I wouldn't like to see drugs in that sport anyway.

I'm a firm believer in letting everyone go to Hell in their own way. If some meat-headed footballer wants to blow out his body and brains with steroids or some idiot actress wants to drink/drug herself to death, I consider that Darwin at his finest.

However...I have a nephew who is on his high school football team. These kids look up to sports stars and want to be like them. My nephew tells me he has seen kids as young as 14 already trying steroids because they see the "benefits" to the pros. THAT's the real danger, IMO.

I'd like to see as much press given to what happens to these people after their careers are over. For example, not many bodybuilders from the 1980's have survived, and those who have mostly have severe health problems. I suspect we'll see more and more of that as the next decade wears on - bodybuilding was at the forefront of the steroid craze.
