An example of how far from normal things remain in the north. With all the serious issues with the border and brexit and the ongoing failure to restore power sharing the hot issue in county down is the name of a children's play park. The park was named years ago after Raymond McCreash, he was the third volunteer to die on the 1981 hunger strikes. The local unionists claim their kids can't play in a park named after an IRA terrorist. For the record mccresh was arrested during an assault on a British army observation post. But my point is that people this divided over events 30 years in the past doesn't bode well for the future.
