You're forgetting Grants head of state, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In fact there has been a woman rather than a man on the throne of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and (Northern) Ireland more than a man from the 19th century onwards. Of course let's not forget the UK has also had two women priministers, and a female deputy priminister, as well as a woman in charge of Scotland. The law has also recently been changed so that a first born female can become heir to the throne ahead of any male, as well as allowing a Catholic to sit on the throne.
Mind you, given the current shambles, the assertion by aforementioned deputy priminister that things would be different if women were in charge is certainly a crock of shit!
