If the British had done the right thing and pulled out of the whole of Ireland instead of just the 26 counties, there would be a peaceful and united country right now. The Irish would still have had their civil war over the treaty, and the whole island would be at peace and united. Nationalists and Unionists would vote the way they do in elections, without outside interference.
