I just had to wade in here. Mediafire is an excellent file host. It has great speed and their premium layout is first rate. I purchased a premium account in September. I paid $59.70 for a 100 GB per month account. Then I uploaded my first small file and watched the account. As an uploader of some rather large files (full size movies), I quickly realized that 100 GB per month was going to be inadequate.

Medafire charges an additional $49.97 per year for a 1000 GB per month limit. There are no stated fee amounts for amounts in excess of 1,000 GB. Last month, 4,600 GB were downloaded from my Rapidshare account and that number increases every month.

At the rate that I upload files and at the rate those files are downloaded, Mediafire would be too costly. Mediafire charges the account holder for downloads. It might be okay for a few small files, but for a large number of popular full length movies, it’s simply not the correct file host.

I also have premium accounts at Depositfiles, Megaupload and a couple of the lesser used file hosts. There are problems for the uploader at each hosting company.

For downloading small files (less than 100 Mb), I actually prefer Mediafire. For larger files there is no contest, but I have lauded and heralded my method far too much already.
