The beautiful hostesss--her name, as I learn, is Jasmine--is just as gracious and charming as one could wish, and does me the kindness of introducing her old-money friends. Sindyloo, is one of them, and the other is called Vivienne--both gorgeous and endearing in their own right--and soon I'm finding myself much more at ease. I wonder who Vivienne is signalling to, though? Ah, that man Jasmine told off, perhaps!! What an ominous expression he is wearing!!! He may be attractive but I frankly distrust him now.
