Well, taking a high velocity round in the face was a factor. But reading the article the primary motivation the man was forced to live under a cloud of suspicion that he was responsible for the shooting. Not sure I buy this. I agree that physical injuries deserve compensation, but unless this guy was living up the shankill for the past 30 years, I don't think being a bloody sunday victim anywhere in the nationalist north, or the republic for that matter would have been an impediment, quite the opposite..
