Indeed. For the benefit of the ignorant, there are certain flashpoints around Belfast where Loyalist and Nationalist areas lie side by side. The peace walls prevent public disorder by preventing gathered mobs from actually being able to get to each other except by a very convoluted route which would make it easy for police or soldiers to block their path.
