I'm currently in Pennsylvania, which has an odd mix of laws concerning alcohol. Hard liquor can only be purchased in state controlled stores, they also sell wine, but they cannot sell beer. Beer can be purchased from beer distributors, but they can only sell by the case, typically 24 or 30 bottles or cans. Bars can sell beer to go, but they have a limit of 12 bottles or cans at a time. Prices are somewhat higher than surrounding states, but not dramatically so. Retail outlets usually close at around 9:00PM, recently they started staying open 7 days a week. Bars can serve until 2:00AM.

New years eve is coming up, I quit going out for this years ago. Amateur night. People who venture out once a year that can't hold their liquor. I can live without the joy of complete strangers telling me I'm their new best friend before they throw up on my shoes.
