Pantyhose should be ripped. Stockings should be left on: it's amusing if one slips down and the other doesn't. Socks should be left on (many girls wear neither pantyhose nor stockings). That's stockings as in long, thin under-leggings, traditionally of nylon, not as another word for socks.
