My dear HRH, Far be it from me to harp on about the failings of our American cousins but you commit the usual American sin of confusing British with English.
Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland comprise Britain. Together we are British. Therefore if, as you state, the Scots intensely dislike the British, they must intensely dislike themselves. We don't, we love ourselves.
In addition, some races think we have numbers on ourselves because we call ourselves GREAT Britain. Not so! In the middle ages we owned parts of France, one area of which was called Petit Bretagne so as not to be confused with Grand (Great) Bretagne. Here endeth the lesson.

That was a very enlightening post. Sincerely, I appreciate your input. The "Scots" I know in Texas may have been dipped in "Southern" Irish bowl a little too often. I would appreciate further input from your lengthy experience. What's going on with the Scottish Independence movement?
I come here to match wits with the best, but more importantly, I come here to learn!
