Sadly FR, 8th Century Islam was far more tolerant than modern Wahabist Islam! Also modern Islamic societies very greatly from country to country and region to region, though much of the Islamic world is plagued by extremism and cultural reversion and sectarian violence and lot of people with really really really bad ideas. Of course there are a lot of Christians with really bad ideas and in a couple decades it could be armies of heavily armed Evangelicals on the warpath...
