The wife fantasy is indeed quite popular. Though I'm not married, I (like every other man) often fantasize about other men's wives. There's a distinct 'alpha-male' desire to 'take' the woman from another man I think. I'm sure there's probably some psycho-babble that would say this is human nature since I'd venture to guess that most of the male population across the world would feel the same.
