The DUP have bluntly told the Conservative government that if they accept any sort of deal that results in "border" between the UK and Northern Ireland, they will vote against the up coming budget in the House of Commons.

This could mean the end of Theresa Mays government.

In the mean time, the Hillary has been in Belfast, accepting an honourary degree from the university. In her speech, she encouraged the various parties in Northern Ireland to put aside their political differences in order to re-establish power sharing and reach some sort of agreement over Brexit.

Seems sensible, if a little unlikely.

She also in her speech mentioned the word "hope", which should give the residents of Northern Ireland cause for concern. Unfortunately she didn't also mention the word "change". In the Obama foreign policy lexicon, the word "change" basically means being fucked up the arse and beaten to death by a vengeful mob. Which I'm sure plenty in Northern Ireland would like to see happen to some politicians, a priest or two, may be the odd retired paramilitary celebrity....
