I never seem to be able to convince my OH during thunderstorms either (past and present). Which is a shame as I'm normally crawling the walls, the electric sensations in the air drive me wild. The best ones are in the summer, when it's incredibly humid and hot and I feel like I'm going to crawl out of my skin.. I'm actually surprised I haven't gone on a rampage and killed people ...
