I've posted on this before, 76 year old Dennis Hutchings lost his bid to have a jury trial on murder charges from a 1974 shooting of an unarmed civilian.

The judge was unmoved by the fact that Hutchings patrol had been in a fire fight with the IRA just days beforer ther shooting. If you see this as a war, which I do,
Then you have to view the shooting as inevitable, loss of civilian life. The victim was a mentally challenged man who panicked at the sight of the patrol and ran.

I'm just not seeing any possible good out of continuing to prosecute an elderly man for something that happened 40 years ago.
