I think it really depends on the person. There are people who are only interested in doing a roleplay, seeking a partner to reciprocate those wants and needs. Others are looking to chat about their fantasies, to see if the other person has similar interests. If it's a good RP and you'd like to mention the things you like, don't like, and intend to have an ongoing roleplaying relationship with that person great. If not- I'd have to agree that it isn't an interview, they are likely very well on sites like this for sexual purposes only, and have no desire for anything more.
