Digress all you like, but the fact is the conflict on the island of Ireland is down to the occupation by the British. If they had fucked off from Ireland in 1922 or even in the 1970's, Ireland would be reunited and at full peace.
Most English people I know don't have any idea of what the Irish conflict was about, and could care less even if they did. The arrogance of many British MPs by brushing off the border issue proves this. They don't understand or care how fragile peace is over there and would gladly risk a return to violence just so they can wrap Brexit up asap.
