You can not give rep points to the same post twice. You can only give rep points to a post. You must spread rep points around before you can give the same person a follow up addition or deletion of rep points.

Tip: When you see a spammer or a spectacularly outstanding dumb ass, give him negative rep points and that counts towards your total and then you can give positive rep to your favorite posters.

I'm a sucker for original 3D art, posts of new material and any post that is well thought out. Even when people that I strongly dislike make an articulate comment or even an intelligent joke in the Rowdy room, I give them a plus rep.

Usually, I even respond to a plus rep with a plus rep on the grounds that anyone that would give me a plus rep should be rewarded for his excellent taste and judgement!

Rep points are important. They influence your ability to gain access to the "Private Section". They garner a bit of respect from fellow members. People with large rep numbers have their files downloaded more readily.
