it has a fake link in it , don't click it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, more of us got this :) Even the address try to look like from RB :)

it is a keylogger attempt i believe , "phishing" . i didn't click on this one as there was no need for me to check it out , i'm 99% sure that's what it is . but a "masked" or "fake link" can only be for trouble .

Got the PM also and googled part of the address. It appears to be some free homepage hosting site so it is impossible to say what he has on his own page without checking it out. :skull-con

Hard to resist finding it out... Well it is likely that someone will click on the link and can tell us what he found. :skull-big

When it come from unknown member with 0 posts, it is easy to detect that.
Once they will be able to steal our account and send such a message fe. as Fibonacci, this will be much harder and we will be in troubles :skull-mad

Why would anyone want to phish an RB account? Haven't they got better things to do like tricking old people out of their life savings and pretending to be Nigerian princes...

I must admit that I'm slightly interested in what they believe to accomplish by this kind of attacks. Guess the reasoning isn't logical enough to understand though. :skull-fro

I just casually clicked on it, nothing happened, except i was temporarily out of the board and had to sign in again. i dont know much about these things; is it dangerous in some way?

that is what a "keylogger" does . it copies your sign in info . but ...

i don't know as i stated i didn't click the link . but i'd run the anti-virus , anti-spyware programs to be safe . and if you clicked on it and had to sign back in , i'd change the sign in infomation ,(password), as fast as i can . can't imagine somebody is sending fake links for no reason .

Man, then this is dangerous and touriquet2001 is right, it is phishing attack which wants to collect infos like username and password, so he then can use your account to anything they want ...

I checked it - they created the page that looks like the login page of RB, but is not - check the screenshot and an address in it.

So you were not temporally logout of RB, it just seemed that way - when you logged in, you just send your login info to somebody and then was redirected back to original RB probably.

I suggest change your sing on info as soon as possible. Or maybe even admin can do that to keep this page safe and send you them. Hope not many members did that!!!

Please double check your PM's on any links in the board before you click on them. And DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT put your username and your password anywhere! Take a good look at the url address and be sure it is www.rapeboard.com. No other addresses are valid, and if you see anything else it is a phishing attempt!

i don't know about other browsers , but for IE and firefox if you hold your mouse over the link , the true URL shows up in the bottom left-hand corner of the web page . a good way to check before you open something .

True, doesn't work all the time however.
An implemended forewarding hidden in the "actual" link doesn't necessarily show up.
