Give him some slack. When I first saw a thread like that I didn't know the pass either until someone posted asking and they were pointed to the key/lock logo.

this is the only one copy of it that I have a the moment - there is another one on a dead HDD with at least another 40GB worth of material, but there is no legal way of getting to it at present...

If files are in asf or in some cases in wmv format then you will need to convert them into avi to get screenshots. Otherwise you will get black screens with Imagegrabber. You can use a prog to convert the files like videocharge or virualdub 1.3.

ok, thanks for the info, I will keep it in mind for the future

I am using Real and Quicktime Alternative but Imagegrabber II simply doesn't want to know the *.rm file extentions and gives me a black screen. Will go and experiment with some other screenie-takers and see if it makes a difference...

I can only Refer to Media Player Classic -again; (works with mov/rm/avi/mpg/asf/wmv)

problems with wmv/asf can happen due to corrupt container/bad chunks (-> black screen) --> use ASF Tools.
